Biographic Notes
Nelson Nunes is an IFCT researcher at IA and lecturer at the Physics Department of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. He was awarded a first degree in Physics by Instituto Superior Técnico in Lisbon in 1997. He worked with the Supernova Cosmology Project at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in 1998. He was awarded a DPhil by the University of Sussex in 2003. He was a researcher at Queen Mary University of London, University of Minnesota, DAMPT - University of Cambridge, ITP - University of Heidelberg. He joined CAAUL in 2011 and is a member of IA since 2014.
Current research interests focus on couplings of dark energy with the rest of the world, that is to say, dark matter, neutrinos, baryons and electromagnetism. In particular, he builds models of dark energy and studies their impact on the formation of structure and variation of fundamental parameters.
He is a member of Euclid and LISA and Science Team member of ESPRESSO.
