Biographic Notes
Joćo P. Faria is a researcher in the Institute of Astrophysics and Space Sciences. After completing a Bachelor degree in Physics at the University of Lisbon, in 2011, he obtained the MSc and PhD degrees in Astronomy, this time at the University of Porto.
His main research interests are the detection of extra-solar planets using the radial-velocity method, and the study of Bayesian algorithms for data analysis. He is actively involved in the planet search program and the analysis of data from the ESPRESSO high-precision spectrograph. Besides these topics of research, his interests extend also to outreach and the development of scientific open-source software.
