Biographic notes
Lara Sousa graduated in Physics/Applied Mathematics from the University of Porto in 2006, did his MSc degree in Quantum Fields and Fundamental Forces at Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine (London, UK) in 2007 and completed his PhD in Theoretical Physics from University of Porto in 2011.

Current research interests include:

  1. Dynamics of topological defects, cosmic super-strings and other p-branes;
  2. Cosmological consequences and observational tests of cosmic defect models (e. g., stochastic gravitational wave background, cosmic microwave background temperature and polarisation anisotropies and 21cm background);
  3. Dark energy;
  4. Varying fundamental couplings;
