Practical information
The school will take place in Angra do Heroísmo (a town in the island of Terceira, and a UNESCO world heritage site since 1983). The island's airport is Terceira-Lajes (IATA code TER). The school days will be September 7-11 (Tuesday to Saturday).

The arrival and departure days should be Monday 6 and Sunday 12 September respectively.

The school will take place at Centro Cultural e de Congressos de Angra do Heroísmo, Canada Nova de Santa Luzia nº 1, 9700-130 Angra do Heroísmo.


Social events
On Monday September 6 we will have an informal reception for lecturers and students to get to know each other. It will take place at 18:00 at Casa do Jardim (located inside Angra's Garden and behind the hotel). There will also be a school dinner on Thursday September 9 at 19h30 at Restaurante da Pousada de Angra do Heroísmo Forte de São Sebastião (Rua do Castelinho, 9700-045 Angra do Heroísmo). Both of these are included in the registration fee.

In the afternoon of Thursday September 9 there will be some organized (but optional) social activities which participants can join. Options include a boat trip to watch whales and dolphins and dive in the middle of the sea, with an expected cost of 45€, and a hike around the interior of the island (a nature reserve), or near the coast if the weather conditions are bad, with an expected cost of 25€. Further details will be sent to participants nearer the date.
