Understanding the nature of pulsations and the physics of the Ap stars
2nd PICS workshop

Summary
This is the second workshop organized in the context of the project PICS entitled, Understanding the nature of pulsations and the physics of the Ap stars, co-funded by the FCT (Portugal) and the CNRS (France). The project aims at combining interferometric and asteroseismic data, and bolometric fluxes, to derive accurate fundamental parameters (radius, effective temperature, mass) of Ap stars, and use them to establish a new, quasi-model independent calibration for the effective temperature of this class of stars. Based on the derived fundamental parameters and oscillation frequencies for a subset of these stars (the roAp), the project also aims at testing current models of pulsation stability.

During this second workshop, members of the team will get together to discuss the recent results in the field and plan the future activities. Two invited researchers outside the project (Victoria Antoci and Denis Shulyak) will also participate in the workshop, presenting their own views and work on the topics under consideration.
