Abstract
In this talk, an account of developments related to ground and space based astronomy programmes in India will be presented. Various Indian institutions have taken a number of new initiatives and created new facilities during the last decade. These facilities along with their scientific objectives will be presented. Their significance in the present era of multi-wavelength astronomy will be highlighted.
