Quasiperiodic patterns in delta-Scuti stars: an in depth study of the CoRoT star HD 174966

Abstract
We have gone one step further from our previous study presented in the first CoRoT symposium, where we found regularities within the periodograms of two CoRoT delta-Scuti stars (Garcia Hernandez et al. 2009, A&A, 506, 79).
In the work we present here, we have used the quasiperiodicity derived from the periodogram of HD174966 to reduce the uncertainty of the physical quantities obtained with the classical observables Teff, logg and [Fe/H]. A 56% of reduction in the mean density (for example) is achieved. For this reason, we consider this quasiperiodicity (related with the large separation as it is defined) a new observable for delta-Scuti stars.
Moreover, we have used Stromgren photometry and spectroscopy, from ground-based observations, to carry out a modal identification and to discriminate between models representative of our star. We have found that only a 3% of the models fulfill all the constraints.
