Abstract
Topological defect networks which form at symmetry-breaking phase transitions in the early universe and may still survive today must be studied using analytical and numerical models due to their non-linear nature. For the case of cosmic strings, understanding the distribution of string loop sizes is the key ingredient for studying their observable consequences. In this work, the length and number of cosmic strings are studied for time evolution of the network using field theory simulation data generated at PizDaint on GPUs for box sizes of 512^3 and 1024^3. This is visualized in the software ParaView.
