Biographic Notes
Ricardo Cardoso Reis got his undergraduate degree in Astronomy in the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. His duties as an Outreach Assistant at CAUP include producing and presenting show in the Planetarium of Porto, writing news and press releases (about CAUP and Astronomy in general), presenting telescope observing nights (and days), and supervising hands-on activities, in such projects as Science in the Holidays, Junior University, Researchers Night or "Astronomy in the Summer".

In 2006 participated in the outreach book "Descobrir o Universo" (Discover the Universe - Gradiva ed., Ciência Aberta colection #152, Teresa Lago coord., 21 co-authors, 2006, 228 p., ISBN: 989-616-120-8).

In 2007 he represented CAUP in the SWEETS consortium (Space Weather and Europe - an Educational Tool With the Sun), where he produced the original planetarium show "Thunderstorms in Space Weather" and co-produced a DVD-Rom about that same theme (available for download here).

During the International Year of Astronomy 2009 he was the coordinator of the global project Dawn of IYA2009 and was a task group member of the Solar Physics Task Group, 100 Hours of Astronomy and Galilean Nights (GN). Of 100HA and GN he was also Portugal's national co-coordinator.
